Nine Techniques taught at Parker College

Nine Techniques in Core Curriculum
The art of chiropractic is the practice of the adjusting techniques used by Chiropractors to treat nervous system interference.

Diversified Technique (Tri 3)
A method of detecting and correcting subluxations of the spine using the hands to deliver a high velocity low amplitude thrust that is safe for the patient and the doctor.

Extra Spinal Analysis and Technique (Tri 3)
A method of detecting and correcting subluxations in the extremities (upper and lower) with protocols for fast and efficient execution using the hands to deliver a high velocity low amplitude thrust.

Gonstead Technique (Tri 4)
A complete system of analysis using observation, instrumentation, x-ray analysis and palpation for the detection and correction of vertebral subluxations using a high velocity low amplitude thrust delivered by the hands.

Thompson Technique (Tri 5)
A table-assisted technique for the full spine with standard protocols, using a drop-piece on the Thompson table for the adjustment.

Upper Cervical Technique (Tri 5)
A table-assisted technique for the upper cervical spine complete with x-ray analysis, instrumentation, and palpation using the hands to deliver a toggle-recoil thrust using a drop-piece on the Upper Cervical table for the adjustment.

Activator Technique (Tri 6)
A method of detecting and correcting subluxations both in the spine and extremities involving patient positioning and challenges to determine where to apply a corrective force with an Activator Instrument.

Flexion/Distraction Technique (Tri 7)
A method of detecting and correcting vertebral subluxations using a motorized flexion distraction table to help identify and then augment the delivery  of a high velocity low amplitude thrust using the hands.

Sacral Occipital Technique (Tri 7)
A method of categorizing the patient into one of three patterns of pelvic distortion that is then corrected by the application of blocks to the patient while they are lying supine or prone.  Auxiliary methods are also used for specific corrections of the spine and extremities by hand only.

Applied Kinesiology (Tri 8)
A method of detecting and correcting subluxations both in the spine and extremities (including cranial work)  using primarily muscle testing and challenges to determine which of the five factors of the IVF are involved and the specific method to correct them using the hands only.
